What are OX-Nodes?

Observation nodes, or OX-Nodes, function as vigilant overseers of the OXOA rollup protocol, playing a critical role in maintaining the integrity and security of the network. These nodes continuously monitor the proposed blocks within the protocol, acting as a safeguard against potential errors or malicious activities.

When an OX-Node identifies an inaccurately proposed block, it promptly raises an alarm, notifying other nodes and operators so that corrective measures can be taken. This collaborative and responsive approach ensures that any discrepancies or issues within the protocol are swiftly addressed, contributing to the overall reliability of the OXOA ecosystem.

One notable feature of OX-Nodes is their versatility in terms of deployment. They can be operated on various platforms, including community members' laptops, desktops, or cloud instances. This flexibility encourages widespread participation in the network's maintenance, fostering a decentralized and resilient infrastructure.

The rewarding mechanism for OX-Nodes is based on a probabilistic algorithm. As long as the node is actively running, the operator stands a chance of receiving an isOXOA token reward from the network. Moreover, operators have the option to increase their likelihood of rewards by staking additional isOXOA tokens, thereby demonstrating a commitment to the network's security and functionality.

In essence, observation nodes exemplify a distributed and collaborative approach to protocol security, empowering community members to actively contribute to the continuous improvement and robustness of the OXOA rollup protocol.
